Tips for dodging big crowds at Victoria Peak Tram and Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car
This post shares the simple ideas to dodge the big crowds of people at Hong Kong's Victoria Peak Tram & Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car with you.As the major attractions of Hong Kong, Victoria Peak Tram and Ngong Ping 360 are always busy.
About 4 million people took the Peak Tram to go to enjoy the skyline and Victoria Harbour view in 2015. It is extremely busy in the afternoon and during sunset.
Although the number of passenger taking the Ngong Ping 360 to say hello to Big Buddha in 2015 dropped from 1.8 million to 1.6 million, the big crowds still exist.
The queuing arrangement for the two attractions is the same:
-You need to line up to buy the ticket first
-Then you need to line up again to wait for the tram compartment or cable car cabin
Quite often, you need to wait for a long time......
When you can take the tram or cable car eventually, you feel very tired.
The crowds may disappear on the days with bad weather. So if you want to take the Peak Tram and Ngong Ping 360 easily, efficiently and comfortably, you need to......
GO EARLY
If you can go earlier than the locals, big package tour groups, individual travelers etc, you can get the ticket and take a seat in the compartment/cabin easily.
It is the simple idea, which everyone knows.
BUT can everyone do it? Traveling independently needs good planning and discipline.
SO what is the best timing?
For the Peak Tram, please go to Central's Garden Road Lower Peak Tram Terminus before 0930. (Please arrive even earlier on holidays)
For the Ngong Ping 360, please go to Tung Chung Terminus when it opens (1000 on weekdays, 0900 on holidays).
PAY EXTRA
If you arrive late, then you may still try the best to dodge the crowds by paying extra to buy something......
For the Peak Tram, you may purchase the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum ticket plus Peak Tram ticket package.
Then you can skip the long line for buying the Peak Tram ticket.
For the Ngong Ping 360, you may buy the crystal cabin ticket to dodge the ticket line of normal cabin.
BUT, there are lots of people want to do the above-mentioned things.
ALSO if there are a lot of people already, you still need to wait for the tram compartment / cable car cabin even you are holding the tickets.
As a last resort, you may pay a lot more to buy the Ngong Ping 360 private cabin ticket (Sadly, there is no 'Private Peak Tram service'.)
SO please go early!!! OR......
